The Cat 2 course has been designed by ECS, and is aimed at people who already have some experience in the Gas Industry, but are unable to carry out ACS Assessments due to their lack of formal qualifications.

The ideal candidate is one who is currently working in the Gas Industry, assisting Gas Safe registered engineers, ie Plumbers, Plumbers Mates, or Labourers who have been  installing central heating or carrying out general Gas work. The candidate must hold a qualification in an associated trade, ie Plumbing, Engineering, Air Conditioning, or similar.

The course requires the candidate to produce a Portfolio of evidence of work carried out whilst under supervision. ECS can help build this Portfolio, and where necessary can even provide Gas Engineers to supervise work.

The course content is such to cover all 15 Core Competencies of CCN1 and can be delivered over a length of time to suit the individual. An experienced candidate will complete the course in five days, either consecutive, or split over weekends.

During the training, the candidate will carry out a number of assessments, and on completion, will receive a certificate, which enables him or her to carry out their ACS Assessments.

ACS Assessments CCN1, CEN1 and HTR1 are included in the price and should be completed in three to five days. Other ACS Assessments can be arranged if required.

Any individual who is interested in Cat 2 should contact us for an Initial Interview.
This is an informal chat where we attempt to find out how much experience a potential candidate has got. On completion of this interview, we can make our recommendations as to how many days training, would best suit that particular candidate. The Initial Interview can be carried out at a time and place to suit your work commitments, whether it be at your home, your place of work, or at our Training Workshop. It will take approximately 20 minutes and is very informal.
